The TANGO Project was proudly presented at the South Tyrol Free Software Conference (SFSCON 2025), where our colleagues Marco Angheben and Stefano Tavonatti shared insights on how TANGO is shaping the future of hybrid intelligence — a paradigm where humans and machines share decision authority by design.

In critical sectors such as healthcare, finance, and policy-making, trust defines the boundaries between risk and responsibility. TANGO tackles this challenge through three open-source building blocks designed to make AI not only smarter but also fairer and more transparent:

• Fairness & Ethics Core – enabling auditable bias detection

• Explain-for-Whom Layer – providing context-aware explanations

•  Hybrid-Learning API – integrating continuous human feedback

Together, these components represent a major step toward trustworthy, open, and human-centric AI, where transparency and participation are built-in, not added as afterthoughts.
