On 9 June 2026, a representative of the TANGO consortium attended the Integreat seminar, “Towards machine learning models that know what they do not know”, presented by Andrea Pugnana (Università di Trento) at the Integreat-UiT Hub in Tromsø, Norway.
The seminar explored how uncertainty-aware machine learning can contribute to more reliable and trustworthy decision-making processes. Discussions focused on enabling AI systems to recognise when they are uncertain and to appropriately involve human expertise when additional judgement is required.
These topics are closely aligned with TANGO’s commitment to developing trustworthy, transparent and human-centric AI solutions. Understanding and addressing uncertainty in AI systems is an important step towards ensuring that advanced technologies remain reliable, accountable and supportive of human decision-making.
Participation in events such as this enables the TANGO consortium to stay informed about the latest developments in responsible AI research while fostering valuable knowledge exchange within the wider scientific community.
