We are excited to announce SYNERGY 2025: Workshop on Designing and Building Hybrid Human-AI Systems, co-located with HHAI 2025 (Hybrid Human-AI Intelligence Conference) on June 9, 2025, in Pisa, Italy. This workshop, supported by our TANGO project partners, University of Pisa and Swansea University, brings together leading researchers to explore the future of human-AI collaboration.
Workshop Website: SYNERGY 2025
Call for Papers
We invite submissions addressing key challenges in human-AI collaboration, focusing on:
✅ Interactive Decision-Making Systems – Real-time collaboration, task allocation, handling uncertainty
✅ Adaptive Collaboration Frameworks – AI systems that adjust to cognitive load and human intervention
✅ Evaluation Methods – Metrics and frameworks for assessing human-AI partnerships
✅ Implementation Architecture – Practical solutions for building collaborative AI systems
We welcome research presenting concrete mechanisms, empirical evaluations, novel interaction patterns, and implementation challenges. Submissions must demonstrate AI-human integration, practical design considerations, and relevance to collaboration.
Important Dates:
- Submission Deadline: April 11, 2025 (AoE)
- Notification: May 2, 2025
- Camera Ready: May 16, 2025
Submission Guidelines:
- Minimum 5 pages, CEUR-WS single-column format
- Submit via Microsoft CMT
- Selected papers will be invited for a Special Issue on Hybrid Human-AI Systems in a leading journal
Workshop Background
In 1960, Joseph Licklider envisioned “Man-Computer Symbiosis”—a vision now becoming reality. As AI systems assist in areas from visual analytics to decision-making, designing truly synergistic systems remains a crucial challenge. Building on the success of SYNERGY 2024, this workshop fosters discussions on the future of human-AI collaboration, with contributions from the €10M EU-funded TANGO project.
